Way back in 2012 when I was working for custom Ruby on Rails software development agency in Atlanta, Georgia, our office had a subscription to Offscreen Magazine.
I loved it; a print mag about digital workers' offscreen life & the stories only existed on paper. No posts, no PDFs. So cool. I have years of issues at the Twotone office. Offscreen lasted nearly a decade and factors related to the Corona Pandemic forced the founder to pull the plug.
The founder, Kai Brach, popped up in my inbox yesterday. Seeing his name was a blast from the past. Though it shouldn't have been as he also has a newsletter also at about 320 issues. lol. I shouldn't have been surprised!
I spotted Kai's name in the latest issues of Stewe Boyd's Work Futures with this quote:
"Amidst our dreams of unlimited scale and frictionless efficiency, the most meaningful connections still happen one human at a time."
It is an excerpt from his last issue discussing the limitations of scalability in tech and the fact that some things – like genuine human care – despite seeming small and personal are tremendously important and profound.
My intro exploration rabbit hole led me to the Steven Scrawls article that caught Kai's eye, then Stewe's, then mine & all of you's. ; )
"But if your goal is to care for the world, and in a given moment you’re deeply caring for one person, you’re doing the best it’s possible to do.
There’s something oddly comforting about that."
– Steven Scrawls
So, as the holidays near, deadlines loom and next year goal setting mounts remember that each individual interaction is what really counts!

Shane Parrish has been on a roll recently and his article: "Your Calendar = Your Priorities", discusses how your calendar is the clearest representation of what you actually prioritize in life, rather than what you say you prioritize. Boom.

The Wisdom of The Three Beans
"A refreshingly earnest and comedic documentary that tells the story of a family who have dedicated the last 20 years of their lives to sharing their vision of wild creativity through interactive film projects." I'm planning on sitting down with the kids and watching this over the holidays! Quintessentially inspiring and most certainly rad!
