This week is all about build-up to the the first show of the year, Velofollies!
I've been a fan of the show since I first had the chance to go back in 2017 or so.
Recently, I was asked what I liked about Velofollies & Cyclingworld. This was my reply:
1. 17-19 Jan | Velofollies | Kortrijk, Belgium:
- I always recommended it as it's the first show of the year, offering a first-hand pulse check on how everyone is feeling in the new year
- It's a great chance to interface with Belgian & French brands _and_ consumers, BUT I'd say it's also become the defacto Dutch show (with Bike Motion indefinitely on ice) with plenty of German & other countries showing up for the aforementioned reason. ; )
- Both of the first two reasons make it a great venue for launches, announcements & campaign kickoffs. Twotone has done stuff there with Classified, Ampler PRO, 2Moso (Wahoo Benelux) and now Moustache!
2. 28-30 March | Cyclingworld Europe | Düsseldorf, Germany:
- The public show in Germany. There is VELO Berlin and others, but Cyclingworld has become the season opener, and its location brings exhibitors and attendees from Benelux all over Germany and beyond. It's very unique and not too commercial.
- Twotone customer Old Man Mountain expanded to Cyclingworld in addition to Eurobike, then added Sea Otter Europe in Spain. It's got such an enthusiastic public attendance & has been awesome for them.
- One big bonus compared to Velofollies (which is inhibited due to the time of year) is the variety of rides and races at the show. Cyclingworld is so much fun and a great way to connect with consumers, brands, shops, and more.
If you'll be at Velofollies on Friday, say hello!
Lastly, hello to recent subscribers! Please to hit 'reply' and lemme know what you think!
And, as always, thank you all for reading,
Jon
