This week is all about Cyclingworld Europe. In its first year back in 2017, the trade show had around 100 stands. This year? A total of more than 300 exhibitors with around 450 brands represented and an expected 25,000 visitors expected. This is a 7% growth in exhibitors over 2024. And the show is on track to break attendance records this year. Urbanbike.news has a great overview of what to expect at the show.
This year, Twotone will be back in Düsseldorf with the following clients:
- 👨🏻 Moustache Bikes (Kaltstahlhalle Stand nºO2)
- 👴🏻⛰️ Old Man Mountain (Kaltstahlhalle Stand nº K2)
- 🐐 Chiru (Kaltstahlhalle Stand nºL7)
- 😎 Procraft (Pumpenraum/Schmiedehalle)
You can schedule to meet me at the show here.
Thank you for reading & wishing you a nice start to the week!

Komoot Acquired: History Says This Won’t End Well

Well, this wasn't on anyone's 2025 bingo card. Not even the employees at komoot. I met the founders perchance at SXSW in Austin, Texas & had the chance to support komoot over the years as a Twotone client. komoot held a special place in my heart as a decade+ of adventures were planned with the app. This week's news came as a shock to everyone and, to me, is a lesson on how not to announce & implement an M&A deal. The link above from Ray Maker casts light on the deal & previous acquisition by Bending Spoons, as does this Bike Radar article. Ultimately, the 'that's business' argument falls flat for me as komoot built its brand on being different but ultimately proved that it was actually the same. p.s. Ben at Bikmo is connecting recruiters to komoot employees so if you're on the hunt & see this, ping him!
